Thoughts on making music: the last song and the next song...

I find that I am most at home watching time go by across an audio file.

"I don't know of any other artist feels this way but every time I write a song - and I've written many - I still find myself giddy like a child with excitement and accomplishment when I hear the music finally finished. The flip side is that usually shortly thereafter I feel a sense of dread that I will never again be able to write another song... I don't know why I feel that way because I always write another song so perhaps somewhere in my soul I understand that there is something truly miraculous in the creation of a piece of art. I feel sincerely in my bones grateful every day to be a creator of something beautiful and relevant: music."
