This song is about the universe of emotion that can be ignited by a fleeting encounter. The song describes a moment in time - 6AM - while leaving the context of that time a mystery. The song explores the power of memory through the phrase "I am not alone" - is the singer accompanied by a person or a memory of a person? I am always drawn to the duality of the human condition: physical and spiritual referencing often the great powers of mystery in heaven and ocean. Are we not as human's in a constant state of reconciling our spiritual and physical existence? The recurring chorus line of "hungry for home" is the great pull of the spiritual plane (back home to heaven) but finding that feeling of place in the destination of love - which is sometimes fleeting. The bridge is highly sexualized with a female power dynamic; "baby you're so innocent up until your paraffin drips down" - the "power" comes from the female voice of knowledge that she knows the details of the intentions of human physical relationships and is a mirror to the realities of sexual encounters - and is not afraid.

LYRICS

Six in the morning I gotta feeling A love like this can open up a door The light shines in and I am not alone And heaven opens up with healing arms And we were hungry for home Six AM I wanted to All that falls in love with you And I say it wasn't love Six AM I wanted to All that falls in love with you And I say it wasn't you Me? I've done enough Made that motion toward love Higher up higher up than the ocean Me? I set it up Me? I cannot give it up Hold it open hold it back like the ocean And we were hungry for home. Baby you're so innocent Up until your paraffin Drip drip drip down down down Drip drip drip down down down Six AM I wanted to All that falls in love with you And I say it wasn't love Me? I've done enough Made that motion toward love Higher up higher up than the ocean Me? I set it up Me? I cannot give it up Hold it open hold it back like the ocean And we were hungry for home.
